How would you best describe Punta Cana?

Punta Cana is definitely a very difficult place to describe. If I had to describe PC with one word it would be ?UNIQUE?. Punta Cana is a place where you can find literally everything; from beaches to malls, to boutique hotels, to 5-star inclusive ones. It?s a place where the music never stops, where no matter what day of the weeks it is, or what time at night, you will find people having an amazing time. The perfect place for Electric Paradise.

What are the local food and drink specialities in the region?

DR has always been well renounced in the rum industry. A multifold of rum brands and different variations you will easily find here in DR. Another famous drink here in DR is ?Mama Juana?, a drink  that is made by allowing rum, red wine, and honey to soak in a bottle with tree bark and herbs (which ironically I?ve never actually had) and obviously, you can never go to the beach without drinking a refreshing pi?a colada. When it comes to food, there?s plenty of amazing places to grab a bite, however, my personal favorite would have to be Bachata Rosa located in Punta Cana?s Blue Mall (Try the Risotto Chivo, its a must!).

Suggestions for Pre-festival bars/beach bars?

There are plenty of pre-festival places in to check out in Punta Cana. Places like Imagine Nightclub which is a club within a cave. Playa Blanca would have to be my favorite beach to chill at; here you will find good food, good ambiance, and amazing crystal clear waters to enjoy yourself.

Where is the best place to stay whilst in Punta Cana?

There are a lot of good places to stay at in Punta Cana, but if I had to choose one it would without a doubt be Punta Cana Resort. Within PC you will find everything you need. Beaches, restaurants, hotels, and the airport is only a 5 min drive (you can literally drive your golf cart there)!

Do you have any other local tips for someone visiting for the first time? [Activities; water sports etc?

There is this magical place in Punta Cana Resort called the Ojos Indigenas, which basically consists of multiple blue lagoons. It is definitely an extremely beautiful place, with clear, crystalline, water.
