Buy / Steam Cosmo’s Midnight – Time Wasted (Emma-Jean Thackray Remix)
Rising UK talent Emma-Jean Thackray has reworked ‘Time Wasted’ by Cosmo’s Midnight, out June 22nd.
Injecting some jazz-inflected horns and percussion, Emma-Jean Thackray delivers an airy, carfree remix of ‘Time Wasted’ that stays true to the original. It follows recent remixes from Hot 8 Brass Band (‘Idaho’), Omar S (‘Have It All’) and Skeleten (‘We Could Last Forever’), with all reworks set to feature on a Yesteryear (Remixed) package, out July 2nd.
Yesteryear (Remixed) brings new life to the duo’s 2020 sophomore album Yesteryear, an acclaimed LP consisting of nostalgia-driven alt-pop, R&B, psychedelia, disco and funk. Surpassing 300 million streams and featuring five Gold singles, the Cosmo’s Midnight sound has landed infectious success.
Drawing plaudits from Gilles Peterson, RBMA, Sounds of The Universe and many more, mega-talent Emma-Jean Thackray wears many musical hats. A composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, bandleader and DJ, she is just as at home working with the London Symphony Orchestra as she is hosting her show on Worldwide FM or tearing it up on trumpet with her quartet.
Emma-Jean Thackray spells out exactly why she is, one of the most exciting talents on the UK jazz circuit with this charming remix.
