Quickly becoming one of the worlds top DJs from Spain, 23-year-old Dany Avila who made an impressive dent in the electronic music scene early on now boasts the highest ever spot as the only Spanish DJ in this year?s sought-after DJ Mag Top 100.
Danny, welcome to Beats Travel. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and where you‘re from?
Thanks guys! I?m a Spanish DJ from Madrid and spend most of my time producing music and touring. I spend a lot of time gigging in Asia, the fans are great there!
Do you have any tips or recommendations for our Beats Travellers heading to Madrid?
Be sure to get our world famous jamon serrano(dry-cured Spanish ham) when you can, and also visit Mercado de Vallehermoso.
How does it feel to be the highest ranked DJ in Spain?
Unbelievable!
When you were growing up, did you see yourself becoming one of the top DJs in Spain, and the world? Number 38 in Top100 DJs to be exact!
I didn?t know what was going to happen. I knew that I wanted to do music full time, so I worked hard until that became a reality! I definitely didn?t think I?d be the highest ever Spanish DJ, it?s a huge honour.
You?ve had a big few years and you?ve recently secured residences in Las Vegas, Ibiza and Asia. Where?s the favourite place you?ve played?
There are too many, to be honest. Every club or festival I played at has had his own unique special something for me, so deciding for only one wouldn?t be fair. But, in all honesty, my show at Untold Festival this year was something I won?t forget for a long time. 80.000 people in one place. That?s just insane!
What are the three items you just can?t travel without?
My laptop, my headphones and my USBs/flash drives.
You recently released ‘End Of The Night?. What was the inspiration behind that track?
End Of The Night is that song about that special person in your life you just want to be with at the end of the night.
Do you have a local hangout when you are back in Madrid that our readers should check out?
Haha, sure, but I won?t tell. Madrid is beautiful, just experience it for yourself, if you can!
Here at Beats Travel we are all about music, travel and culture. Where in the world is on your bucket list to play?
Lots, to be honest. I would love to get on another bus tour, like I did back in 2013 and 2014 in the US. Those were incredibly fun!
After such a big rise in fame, what‘s coming next for Danny Avila?
Well, it?s been the best year yet, and it hasn?t even finished! Loads more to come next year, lots of writing and gigging I?m sure. There will be massive collabs coming up with Deorro, Timmy Trumpet and also a follow up with NERVO. And my third single under my SONY deal is also done.
Danny Avila ? End of the Night is out now.
