What to expect: Inspired by the Beat Generation?s quest for creativity without boundaries, the Beat Hotel arrived at Glastonbury in 2011, providing a hedonistic refuge for artists and punters, much like its mid-century namesake in Paris.

Following in the footsteps of the original Beats, who travelled Morocco?s cities and deserts finding inspiration and cultural counterpoints, the Beat Hotel?s next chapter continues in a similar vein.
The Beat Hotel Story

The original Beat Hotel (Paris, 1933-1963), though small and run down, has a strong legacy that lives on through the words of its principal residents. A place of unbridled and raw creativity, the likes of Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, William Burroughs and Brion Gysin all stayed for a time, writing some their most memorable works in the late 50s and early 60s.
